Lawford Hatcher

Lawford Hatcher is a junior from Maryville, Tennessee studying mathematics in the Accelerated Masters Program. Lawford is also the President of the Alabama International Relations Club. With very broad research interests, he is working at APPL on developing a machine-learning-based model to identify chili pepper species based on seed morphometrics. He is also doing research in the Mathematics Department on partial differential equations and their applications to image processing. After graduating from the University of Alabama with both his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in mathematics, Lawford plans on pursuing a PhD in applied mathematics.
